Launch Date for National Test is Near

The National Mortgage Loan Originator exam, required to be passed by each MLO with a 75% pass rate, is scheduled to be available on or around July 30.

The NMLS has selected Pearson VUE to administer the exam. Exams can be taken at nearly 500 locations operated by Pearson VUE or Prometric. For test scheduling information, candidates can visit www.pearsonvue.com/nmls or www.prometric.com/nmls.

Candidates should note that there is a 30-day waiting period after each failed attempt to take the exam. If a candidate fails on the fourth attempt, the retake waiting period will be 180 days.

Eleven state exams are also scheduled to be released July 30. These are Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. The rest of the state components are scheduled to be available no later than December 31, 2010.

More information on testing can be found on the NMLS web site or by clicking here.
